What are some of your favorite things to do in Columbia?
I really like walking around downtown, wandering into the many different shops and restaurants. There are so many great things to do here in Columbia, and there is always something going on. I love to go salsa dancing and taste local flavors. Some of my favorite restaurants are Las Margaritas, Addison's, and Sparky's (ice cream.. yum!). And of course, Shakespeare's pizza is the absolute best.

Favorite outdoor activity:
I love taking my dog Lucy for long walks at many of the different parks here in Columbia, especially at Twin Lakes where she can go swimming. She LOVES to swim!

People would be surprised to know that...
I love to crochet! I've made many different baby blankets, afghans, and even stuffed animals for friends and family.

What advice would you give students about choosing a college?
Don't be intimidated or afraid to ask questions. This is your time to really think about your future, and the college you choose has to fit you. Go for a visit or at least a virtual tour. Make sure the college has what you want - the right major, the right living arrangements, and most importantly, the right vibe.

What were your favorite activities or organizations in college and why?
My favorite activity as a student was being a Global Ambassador. I was able to meet exchange students from all over the world, help introduce them to campus, and make sure they had a great cultural experience. I also helped start an organization that got students out in the community doing service projects. It is amazing how interacting with your community can enhance your collegiate experience.

What makes Columbia College different?
Everyone at Columbia College is invested in your success. There is always a friendly face waiting to help you get the best education possible. Classes are small, and quality counts.
