What are some of your favorite things to do in Columbia? Walk around the town, eat at many unique restaurants, and see my co-workers.
Favorite outdoor activity: Baseball games and playing catch.
People would be surprised to know that… I am a huge Jimmy Buffett fan.
What advice would you give students about choosing a college? Visit, ask plenty of questions, and find what is comfortable for you.
What were your favorite activities or organizations in college and why? I participated in radio all four years and was the General Manager for one year. We broadcasted live. I was able to pretend to be a sports expert, call athletic contests and travel, and play music with my friends. I also launched our stream online, which was a pretty historic and memorable event, happening right after our station’s 50th anniversary! I was also an Orientation Assistant, welcoming new students and families to Valparaiso for three summers. It was great to see new, excited, and nervous faces and help guide them on campus. But my favorite part was the relationships I made with my fellow Orientation Assistants--they are some of my greatest friends.
What makes Columbia College different? While it is a small school where you get to know your classmates and professors, you have the big college town atmosphere that adds to the entire experience.
